My Work
Due to the nature of the advertising lifecycle, many of my past projects are now no longer. Campaigns are replaced, and now they only live on in my portfolio.
Blackline
The SaaS application that I worked on for five years. My work included building and maintaining the UI library, page layouts and many of the UI components.
Better Call Saul
I'm quite a fan of Breaking Bad, and it was an honor to build bettercallsaul.com, one of my favorite past projects.
Lego Shop
I got to work on the shop pages for lego.com. Most of the work was building basic reusable UI components for the pattern library, then building out the pages to support the components.
Anthem Connects
In addition to general data about Anthem and their programs, the site allowed you to calculate your Health Footprint by answering a series of lifestyle questions, helping you to determine what if anything you need to do to improve your health.
HYFN.com
Hyfn needed a new site and had some great designs. This site was one of the heavier media-based responsive sites I've worked on. In the end, things work as expected and look nice from iPhones to iMacs.
WSJ Media Kit
My first opportunity to work with the Wall Street Journal, and I built their media kit. This was interesting because the entire site is engineered for modularity, and can be arranged or edited via a custom cms.
Quizno's
This was a fun and colorful project for Quiznos. Mostly a social media and video aggregator, this responsive site needed to display different media types in modal content. It's always fun to watch original programming. Or watch people eating.
Get Schooled
A major partnership between Viacom and The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation needed a site that could deliver college information to kids. Most of my contributions were layout and working on responsive elements, but it was one of my largest projects.
Cheetos Eggerator
Sadly, this custom egg designer canvas app was only around for Easter. When it was up, you could design and share your eggs in a fun parallax interface.
Philosophy
I was invloved in this build for Philosophy.com. A hybrid image-based and editable text site that would be responsive, but allow interactivity with a canvas centerpiece. It was nice and blue.
FXX.com
Since FXX was launching a new channel, of course they needed a site for it, and here it is. In addition to working on FXX.com, I also built a global navigation that was integrated into the FX site, so I got to work in both environments extensively.
MTV Fantasy Election
This was an fun project to work on. The idea was to mix fantasy sports with the 2012 election, and I think it turned out beautifully. Based on MTV's post-election data, over 10k people completed the entire election season.
Apostrophe wine
A classier site for some clients who are big in the wine business. I handled all of the heavy lifting on this site, front-end and PHP, so it's one of the more fully-featured sites I've worked on. Built on Wordpress, the site was beautifully simplistic, and broke a lot of information up into easy to read sections.
Coach Music
An interesting site, with a light back end to grab all of the artist info. The UI provided a responsive front end music chart and portal for videos of live Coach concerts.
Public Storage Mobile
This was an interesting project. I was tasked with building the front end for the mobile component of the Public Storage web site.
Toyota Ask an Owner
This is the only project I have worked on for Toyota, but it was quite a large one. The site allowed people to ask questions and search existing questions to provide their own answers for.
KetelOne.com
I did most of the CSS and JS on the site, and it was built in what I would consider to be record time. It was a fun site to poke around, lots of drink mixing tips and interesting historical facts about the company.
VW Merge & Purge
You and your mate are moving in together. You both have things from your single lives, and you both can't keep everything. What to do? Upload photos of your and your partner's couch, chairs, etc... and let the masses vote on what is merged and what is purged.
Avatar: The game
One of the biggest films of all time, and I got to build the site for the official game (which was actually kinda fun to play). The game site has long passed, but I wasn't about to leave it off the list.
Real California Milk
Happy cows make happy milk. I built the front-end for this Wordpress site a few years ago. It was a great way to find recipes, cheese pairings or just more information about that Real California Milk label you see on the good milk at the supermarket.
Olympus Pen Ready
This was an interesting concept. Olympus handed out a bunch of free cameras and invited people to upload their shots to this site, which was built as a standalone site within Tumblr.
The VW Blog Network
The VW blog network served it's purpose, but is now offline. When in use, it provided a hub of multiple Wordpress sites catering to different classes of VW users, from general fans of the brand to enthusiasts. The site drew quite a bit of traffic in its day.
The VW Comparator
Built as a microsite within the VW.com framework, this site allowed you to compare different aspects of all of the VW models, as well as competitors for the class of car you're thinking of buying. You were able to compare numerous aspects of the car you're thinking of buying, as well as the competition's offerings.
PS3 Move VS. Stuff
More video game sites and I love it. When Sony launched the Move controller for their PS3 system, I got to build the microsites for different aspects of the launch. You could do things like compare the Move controller to other consoles' motion controllers, learn how to operate the new controller and send requests to parents who might buy you one.
Walden Class Photo
Another Facebook Page I built the front end for, this time it was for a college's class photo app. The concept is this, you graduate, and you can send out messages to facebook friends sharing your accomplishment.
WB Fan Kits
This was one of my early LA projects. The site was built to be a modular platform for Warner Bros. to showcase fan media for whichever movie they were releasing at the time. Originally, it was built for one of the Harry Potter films, and was then repurposed for the Clash of the Titans and Nightmare on Elm Street reboots a few years back.
End of Nations
The site and the game have long passed, but this was a fun video game project that used some advanced layering, animation and video effects for the time. Based on a CMS, it allowed the game developers to update content about the site, highlight social media for the game, etc...
Colgate
This was a Facebook app that allowed you to rate and share your Colgate Smile with friends, then post your smiles to a gallery. Fun toothpastey stuff.
Fidelity Ads
This project wasn't a site, but a rebuilding of some of the formerly Flash/Actionscript-based advertising mini-apps using HTML, CSS and JS. Included calculators that rank your savings and investments with those in your area.
Hyfn8
There really isn't much to show on this one, since it was a proprietary service. It was a multi-featured application that lets you engage with social media users, build and deploy Facebook applications and among other things, schedule social media posts on behalf of clients.
